Micromanagement or just attention to detail?

10. July 2023

Micromanagement frustrates managers and employees alike. As a detail-oriented individual, I understand the challenges it poses. How can we shift the focus from controlling every detail to fostering a positive work environment?

Being conscious and intentional creates an environment where both our team and organization thrive. By communicating expectations clearly, encouraging contributions, and providing support, we can remain detail-oriented without micromanaging. A hands-on approach is sometimes necessary for reaching a standard of perfection in special situations, but many times “good is good enough”! Growth also comes from learning from mistakes.

Any tips for finding the right balance between controlling critical details and trusting emergence?
